Throttle        OPEN
Starter warning light   CHECKED
Ignition switch   ON BOTH
Call All Clear & Pull Starter

AFTER STARTING

Starter warning light          OFF
Set Throttle              1000 RPM
Oil pressure       INCREASING
(If Oil pressure not increase within 30 seconds STOP the engine immediately)
Generator warning light     OFF
Ampere meter       CHARGING
Master switch              OFF check Gauges then ON
Mixture                    Check operation
Carburetor heat        Check operation
Flaps                       Check operation

NIGHT FLYING

Navigation lights  ON
Taxing & landing lights   OFF
Radio        ON
Instrument flying       check Navigation aids

EXTREME COLD WEATHER START

Prime the engine (8-10 times) while the propeller is being turned by hand
Carburetor heat full Open
Start engine; continue priming till engine runs smoothly
Keep Carburetor heat until engine warm up

CLEANING UP OVER PRIMED ENGINE

Throttle wide open.
Mixture idle cut off
Crank the engine through several revolutions
Restart without priming
